Hi, I’m Steven. I’m an info-worker by day but in my spare time, I love woodworking and doing odd jobs around my house, and, on occasion, for friends and family.
I know when I started to do more smaller projects around my house, I had a ton of questions about all kinds of things, but one topic started to emerge as more fundamental. That’s where this site comes in.
Why I Started Wood Informer
As I’ve jumped into amateur woodworking and just the whole wide world of wood in general, I realized I had a lot of questions that I couldn’t find the answers I wanted to. Don’t get me wrong – there are a ton of resources out there on how to produce things out of wood, how to maintain, treat, and finish wood, but for me, I needed a more generalist take. And it just came naturally to me to start to archive this information so that someone else could benefit from it as I have.
So, I hope WoodInformer can be a great resource for others out there, and save you just a few minutes if you stumble across something I’ve been able to write about. From simple, quick questions related to wood, to more complicated project-type situations, I hope this site can be a resource on all things wood, now and for years to come.
